God ol’ poker

November 24th, 2009

This weekend I played some god ol’ five card poker! It felt very weird at first, only getting to play with the cards in your hand, but as i got more and more into it I really liked it. Felt like fifteen years ago when Texas Hold’em wasn’t on everybodys lips.

The game went so-so, I came out a little bit wealthier than I went in, but this time we played for the sake of playing and the good company. It was a friendly game at my old high school buddy’s house and we just wanted to try five card poker without making a big deal out of it as to the economical part of the game.

I believe we will stick to hold’em in the future though, considering that’s the favourite game of most of my friends.

The best pokergame in my life!

September 14th, 2009

I was playing Texas Hold’em in Milano with my friends when we were on vacation last summer. After a few hours the neighbours shows up and joins the game.

The third round was my round. I mean really mine! I had 7 and 8 of diamonds, not a very good hand to start with as you probably know, I just limped in the blind. I was the first one to bet and with theese guys you usually end up playing the game only for the blind so I took my chances. The flop comes, and its 10 diamonds, king of spades and king of hearts. Ok, my hands still sucks.. and I can see two happy faces on the table and I guess the have a king boht of them. I check, next one checks. The last guy (one of the guys who probably has a king) bets a little to see the reaction. I see a fake dissapointed look on the other guy with the king so i figured he was gonna call making the other one bet next round. I called aswell, for being a cheap call. The turn comes and the card is a 9 of diamonds.

By now you can probably guess what happened :) The betting war starts – and me having alot of outs I join. I love to have this kinda cards and I could be very sure that if I get one of the cards I need I will win Big Time!

And yes, the river comes and it’s 6 of diamonds and I went home as an owner of a restaurant :)
